Five days following last weekend’s devastating storm, electrical power has yet to be restored at Scarborough Downs. With live harness racing scheduled for this weekend, track management has been forced to make the difficult decision to cancel Saturday’s (Nov. 4) card.
Scarborough remains hopeful that power can be restored in time to salvage Sunday’s live performance. With the Breeders' Cup championships being raced Friday and Saturday at Del Mar, it is with regret that the track announces that the simulcast wagering facility also remains closed.
"We share your disappointment with the current unfortunate situation, but please be assured that we are doing all in our power to return the Downs to normal operations, just as quickly as possible," said the track in its release.
