Racing Under Saddle Ontario would like to remind everyone, whether mildly interested or completely vested in racing under saddle, to attend the 2015 Annual RUS Ontario general meeting.
The meeting will be held on November 29, beginning at 2:00 p.m., at the Nassagaweya Tennis Centre & Community Hall, 9267 Guelph Line, Campbellville, Ont.
RUS Ontario is entering its third year as a part of the Standardbred wagering landscape. RUS Ontario believes 2016 will be crucial to the growth and expansion of racing under saddle and as such the organization wants to gather data and thoughts to further the actual racing as well as the wagering aspect of RUS Ontario.
The meeting will start with a general business meeting, financial reports and executive elections. Following a short break, the 'Round Table Discussion' section of the meeting will commence, ideally around 3:00 p.m. During this portion of the meeting, RUS Ontario will be seeking input from all people on marketing and promotional ideas, rules and regulation change suggestions, as well as other thoughts individuals may have. RUS Ontario will conduct the meeting in a round table format with each person having up to 90 seconds to voice their thoughts. During each speaker’s time, there will be no comments, criticisms or rebuttals from others. Every idea, comment, or question will be written down to be addressed at future meetings. Of course, the owner of any idea is welcome to stay involved with their idea, and this can easily be done by joining the RUS Ontario board or one of the planning committees.
