Standardbred racehorse owner George Mahon passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, November 10 at the age of 79.
George is the dearly beloved husband of Lois Mahon (nee Benedict). Loving father of Gary Mahon and his wife, Kim, Paul Mahon and his wife, Shawna and Karen Shular and her husband, Dennis. Proud grandfather of Lexy, Regan and Jordan. Dear brother of Reta Richards and her husband, Larry, of Owen Sound. George will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Lawson and Annie Mahon.
Friends may call at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service for George will be held in the chapel on Friday, November 14 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Heather McCarrel officiating. Interment in Annan Cemetery.
