The videos of 16 yearlings Ruddick Stables will be selling at the Indiana Premier Yearling Sale to be held on Friday, October 17, beginning at 11:00 a.m., are now online and available on the farm’s website.
The videos are available on ruddickstables.com, and they are also available via the Indiana section of the sale’s website (lexingtonselected.com).
The farm-owned and agent consignment includes yearlings by some of the most popular sires in Indiana racing, and beyond, including ABC Garland (1), Always A Virgin (1), Big Stick Lindy (1), Dali (3), Dontgetinmyway (1), Earl Of Stormont (1), Guida Muscle (1), Jailhouse Jesse (2), Justice Hall (1), Mr Cantab (2), Rockin Image (1), Shadyshark Hanover (1).
According to farm manager Stacey Ruddick, the consignment has a good selection of yearlings. “This is our biggest consignment to date,” stated Ruddick. “We have some outstanding individuals and something for all budgets. I think the buyers will be pleased with the yearlings they see in our consignment.”
She continued, “We just started selling a consignment in the Indiana sale a few years ago. From our first two consignments, 100 per cent of the horses we sold made it to the races. That should tell the buyers something about the quality of horses we raise and sell.”
Those sale graduates include 2013 Indiana Sires Stakes Gold Series Champion, Only Just A Dream 2,1:58.4; 3,1:55 ($193,482), and this year’s standout and Indiana Sires Stakes winner, Crunchess Finale 2,1:56.4-’14 ($81,392).
Trotter highlights in this year’s consignment include a Guida Muscle sister to 2013 O’Brien Award winner Riveting Rosie 2,1:55.3; 3,1:54 ($703,556), who recently equalled the track record at Flamboro Downs in Ontario, and a Mr Cantab sister to Indiana Sires Stakes winners Jesse Lane 2,1:57.4; 3,1:55.3 ($283,419) and Stickem Buck 2,1:57.2-’14 ($80,540).
On the pacing side, the consignment has an Always A Virgin brother to A List p,2,2:01.4h; 3,1:53.3f; 4,1:52.1-’14 ($86,920) and the talented Ontario Sires Stakes winner, I Wonder Why p,2,1:53.4f-’14 ($76,339), as well as a first crop Shadyshark Hanover brother to multiple Open winner, Mojo Terror p,2,1:56f; 3,1:50.4 ($551,141).
If you miss the opportunity to see the yearlings at the farm prior to shipping to the sale, they will be available for inspection in the Champions Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Thursday, October 16, beginning at 9 a.m.
New this year, the farm will offer a unique reward for buyers. Anyone purchasing a yearling from the consignment will be entered in a drawing for a prize at the end of the sale. The number of entries for each hip number will be based on their final bid. Details will be available at the sale.
