MGM Northfield Park is hosting a Lady Drivers Showdown on Saturday (Oct. 23). The race features nine female drivers and is the 10th race on a 15-race card. Saturday’s post time is 6 p.m.
The Showdown will carry a $10,000 purse. Among the participants are local favorites Rachel Kaneoka and Rosy Weaver. The most accomplished among the distaff drivers is Jamie Coffy, who has scored 114 lifetime victories. Coffy has won three times in just nine starts this year.
Emily Hay will drive Night Pro, who just became a millionaire with a win earlier this month in the Open Pace at Northville Downs in Michigan. Nadine Habke, the usual outrider on the Flying Turns, will be in the sulky behind Totally Kissed, a nine-time winner already this year.
The race’s other participants include Amy Wengerd, Mandy Jones, Ulrika Karlsson and Amanda Mills.
