Fan Club At Atlantic Breeders Crown

The 'I Love Canadian Harness Racing' Fan Club will take part in the Atlantic Breeders Crown this weekend at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park.

Marc Campbell and Gilles Barrieau will be on hand on Sunday, October 7 for a meet and greet with racing fans from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the rotunda area of the grandstand. Drop by to meet Marc and Gilles and they’ll autograph a free photo for you, complements of the Fan Club.

Fan Club members or anyone who joins the Fan Club will on Sunday will be entered into a draw to win one of four $50 win tickets.

The Atlantic Breeders Crown features a slate of activities from October 5 through October 7. The Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale at Crapaud Exhibition Grounds kicks off the weekend festivities at 2:00 p.m.

On Saturday, October 6, the ABC Consolation race card goes postward at Red Shores with a 1:00 p.m. first-race post time. Later that evening, the Dutch Inn in Cornwall will host the Atlantic Breeders Crown Banquet, presented by the PEISHOA. A panel including Howie Trainor, Phil Pinkney, Mike Campbell and Ralph Annear will take a 'Look Back on Maritime Harness Racing.' Vance Cameron and Lee Drake will emcee the evening’s festivities.

The Whelan family, originally from Alberton, Prince Edward Island, the Goguen family of Moncton, New Brunswick, the Walter Deering Family of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Peter MacKinnon family of Sydney, Nova Scotia will be recognized for their significant contribution to the regional industry at the banquet and saluted with memorabilia on display in the 'Memory Lane' room on the second level of the grandstand during Atlantic Breeder's Crown weekend.

Sunday’s program starts with a complimentary Pancake Breakfast sponsored by David Corrigan/Parker Realty and the PEISHOA at 9:00 a.m. at Red Shores, followed by a ‘Women in Harness Racing Fan Seminar' at 10:30 a.m.. PCHC Horsewomen of the Year and reigning Gold Cup and Saucer Ambassador MacKenzie MacInnis will join Clare MacDonald, Ambyr MacPhee, Katie Millar and PEISHOA President Dr. Colleen Dickie on the panel.

The Atlantic Breeders Crown Finals headline the 13-race card at Red Shores with a first-race post time of 1:00 p.m.
