Dr. Cal Stiller Named Laureate Of Canadian Medical Hall Of Fame

It was announced today that Dr. Calvin Stiller of Stonebridge Farm will be inducted into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame in the spring of 2010 at a Gala to be held in

Calgary, Alta.

The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of Canada’s medical heroes. There are presently 76 members in the hall and five more members will be inducted in 2010. Current members represent an array of Canadian innovators and personalities with three Nobel Prize winners including Sir Frederick Banting, the discoverer of Insulin.

In addition to being a highly respected transplant specialist and pioneer, scientist and entrepreneur whose work has been widely recognized, Dr. Stiller is also a prominent owner and breeder of standardbreds. Some of his most outstanding performers include the great trotting filly Peaceful Way, a winner of $3.2 million in her spectacular racing career. Other memorable racehorses from Stonebridge Farm, near Arva, Ont., which his wife Angie operates, include Stonebridge Regal, Stonebridge Kisses, Stonebridge First, Stonebridge Premio and the list goes on.
