In an exciting finish Sam held off Tito in the $800 Dayton Wiener Dog Derby at Hollywood Dayton Raceway on Saturday (Oct. 12) afternoon. Hometown favourite Beatle got the show dough.
The race took place in the homestretch following the ninth harness race on the special matinee program.
The top four finishers from a pair of elimination heats returned for the final with a first place purse of $500 on the line. The runner up earned $200 with the show finisher getting $100.
Sam is owned by Robert Bair, Tito belongs to Kailee and Tyler Painter, while Beatle is the pride and joy of Janet Essig.
Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway would like to thank all the participants for competing in this fun-filled event.
