A string of upsets early in the Tuesday (Jan. 8) card at Pompano Park have led to several carryovers into the track’s Wednesday (Jan. 9) program of live racing.
Despite four upsets in the first four races on Tuesday, there were still three live tickets out to a ‘pool shot’ for the fifty-cent Pick 5, but, ironically, it was the first post-time favourite of the night that triggered a carryover of $5,994 into Wednesday night.
Track officials, in conjunction with the USTA’s Strategic Wagering Program, have added an ‘instant guarantee’ of $30,000 to the track’s Wednesday night Pick 5.
The fourth-race Pentafecta also went uncovered, which has resulted in a $3,994 carryover into Wednesday night’s fourth race. The 50-cent Pick 6 also went unsolved, which created a single-night carryover of $1,399 into Wednesday night’s third race.
Live racing is currently offered at Pompano five nights per week, with a first post of 7:20 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
