Caring For Horses In Winter Workshop

Published: January 9, 2019 04:35 pm EST

Visit the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame, located at 240 Main Street, Goshen, NY on Saturday, January 26 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. for a presentation and activities related to understanding the effects of winter weather on horses.

Participate in experiments to better understand the stress that cold wet weather may impose on the body. To add to the fun, bring your favourite model horse and design a felt blanket of your own design, cut horse-styled paper snowflakes and take a ride on the 3-D simulator. The cost is $5 for this event and free to current Pony Club, Scouts and 4H members. Reserve your seat by January 24.

Programs are made possible by the Agriculture & New York State Horse Development Fund.
