The supplement catalogue and updated past performances for the Meadowlands January Select Mixed Sale are now available on the Tattersalls website (tattersallsredmile.com). They’ve also been added to the ‘Equineline Sales Catalog’ app for the iPad.
The sale will get underway on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 15) at 11 a.m. in the back paddock at the Meadowlands. Breeding stock will sell first, followed by racehorses.
Featured in the supplement are five individual 2018 breedings to Sweet Lou, who ranked second among pacing sires at last fall’s yearling sales with an average of more than $60,000.
“When you consider how good the catalogue is – and add to that a strong stock market and positive changes in tax laws in regard to equine holdings – I expect commerce next week will be brisk,” said sale manager David Reid.
“There’s the usual great selection of quality racehorses, but this year, in-foal mares and breedings to top stallions are the co-stars,” he added. “I think there’s opportunity here for some breeders to upgrade and add star-quality mares to their barns.”
Numerous Tattersalls mixed sale graduates have been in the racing spotlight this past year, but perhaps none so much as Propulsion. The 2015 Tattersalls sale grad just won the Prix de Bourgogne in Paris and now heads to the €1,00,000 Prix d’Amerique later this month as one of the favourites to win the classic.
