Jo-Dee Brown has announced that her common-law partner, groom Phillip Morris, 53, passed away the morning of December 29, 2015 at Spring Garden Ranch in De Leon Springs, Florida.
Morris, who was born in Scotland, is survived by his parents, Roseanne and Phil Morris of St. John, New Brunswick; his daughter, Anne Rice (Donnie); and his siblings, Michele, Carol-Anne, Kim and Scott; and several nieces and nephews.
Via release, Brown stated that Philip had a heart of gold and would do anything to help another person. He groomed Standardbred racehorses for many trainers in New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Ohio, Georgia and Florida.
After cremation in Florida, Phillip’s remains will be returned to his parents and he will be interned with his maternal grandmother.
An online funding page has been set up to assist with the expenses. The releases states that funds that are contributed that end up being in addition to what is ultimately needed will be donated to the Christian Harness Horsemen’s Association.
