On Wednesday, January 7, the Ontario Racing Commission released its ruling in regard to an appeal by horseman Anthony MacDonald.
The ORC Panel that heard the appeal granted a stay in the case, with conditions.

As previously reported by Trot Insider, Stonebridge Rich, the horse at the centre of the appeal, was removed from Ontario's suspended horses list on December 24.
Stonebridge Rich was at the root of an issue regarding withdrawal times and the therapeutic medication carbocaine (mepivacaine). Trainer Anthony MacDonald and Ontario Racing Commission-licensed veterinarian Dr. Chris Grossenbacher had discussed the details with Trot Insider earlier in December, with both trainer and vet insistent that the horse received less than the maximum dose of the local anesthetic outside of the recommended administration window outlined by the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency.
