An enticing array of other silent auction products and entertainment packages on offer includes a trip to the National Rodeo finals in Las Vegas in December 2011. There will be items to appeal to every pocketbook.

These auctions are the primary fundraiser for the SBOA which sponsors two annual filly stakes races and a successful new ownership mentoring program. The association also plays a vital industry role as an advocate for breeders’ interests.

Keynote speaker for the evening is Dr. Joan Zielinski of Lake Forest, Illinois, a renowned marketing expert commissioned in both 1991 and 2010 by the USTA for an in-depth analysis of harness racing. Dr. Zielinski will discuss her findings and recommendations, including how we need to move from a product-focused industry to one focused on the customer.

Awards ceremonies will honour the breeders of the top Ontario Sires Stakes horses in 2010, the Johnston Cup and Lampman Cup winners, as well as the Master Feeds Award recipient. The Chris Van Bussel Memorial Award winner and the Lloyd Chisholm Achievement Award honouree will both be unveiled that evening.

The SBOA event is set for the Delta Hotel at 50 Stone Rd West in Guelph, Ont., which is easily accessible from Hwy. 401. The Annual General Meeting kicks off at 5:00 p.m., with cocktails at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Don’t miss out on a night of guaranteed good times and camaraderie. Tickets ($60 per person, including parking fees) are limited, but right now they’re only a phone call away: Laurie Poole 519-678-3637 or Patti Cunning 905-854-1354.
