Former Ontario Racing Commission Judge and longtime starter at Windsor Raceway, Glenn Campbell
passed away on January 2, 2010 after a lengthy journey with P.S.P. (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) at the age of 67.
Beloved husband and best friend of Peggy (nee Bates) for 22 years. Cherished father of Ty (Kathy and family). Dear son of the late Verland and Gordon Campbell. Dearly loved son-in-law of Clifford and Margaret Bates. Predeceased by brothers Gary Campbell and Garth Campbell. Brother in law of Marty Bates (Mary Beth), Sharon Dvorak, Tim Bates (Stephanie), Joan Campbell (nee Walker), Joan Campbell (nee Blance). Survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Long affiliated with harness racing, Glenn was the Starter at Windsor Raceway for 21 years, later becoming a Race Official (Judge) for the O.R.C. (Ontario Racing Commission) and the Royal Winter Fair. Glenn was a lifelong member of the O.R.C., the Ontario Harness Horsemen's Association, and Standardbred Canada. He was also a member of the Maryland Racing Commission and the United States Trotting Association.
