Field Of Six With Starters In Post 9, 10

If you’re looking for something a little bit different on Friday (Jan. 31), there will be a six-horse race where two of the participants will line up in posts nine and ten.

Allmyxsliventexas and Heza Real Diamond, who have been engaging in some great battles at the head of the class at Cal Expo, will get another chance to settle the score during this Friday night’s (Jan. 31) featured $6,700 Open Pace.

A 12-race card will be on tap and first post is set for 6:10 p.m. The headliner has been programmed as the fourth contest on the evening. Allmyxsliventexas is scheduled to start from Post 9 and Heza Real Diamond from Post 10 in the field of six.

Allmyxsliventexas is a seven-year-old son of Hi Ho Silverheels who is owned and was bred by Wayne and Rod Knittel. He takes his lessons from Bob Johnson and will again have Mooney Svendsen in the sulky on Friday. The hard-hitting bay has recorded 36 wins from his 116 career trips to post and has banked over $210,000. Allmyxsliventexas has posed for pictures following three of his last four ‘top dances’ for the division at Cal Expo, including last week when he sat the pocket behind Heza Real Diamond and was up by a nostril in a 1:50.2 tour.

Heza Real Diamond is having a great time during the current Cal Expo meet, as he has posed for three snapshots over the course of his last half-dozen starts for owner Orlando Nevarez and trainer Edwin Quevedo. Nick Roland will be in the sulky again on Friday. The Nevarez colourbearer has traded decisions with Allmyxsliventexas in his last two starts, and on both occasions the horse who sat the two-hole behind the pacesetter has surged to get the victory in the final strides.

Mr Varsity, Part Time, King Of The Crop and Fox Valley Hoss will complete the field for Friday’s tilt.

Cal Expo offers two wagers each night that come with a reduced 16 per cent takeout rate – the 20-cent Pick 5 and 20-cent Pick 4. The Pick 4 comes with a $40,000-guaranteed gross pool on Saturdays and a $30,000 pool on Fridays.
