As Harrah's Hoosier Park readies for its 33rd season of live harness racing, qualifiers will get underway on Saturday, Jan. 31 in advance of the opening-night card on Thursday, Feb. 12.
Through March, Hoosier will host qualifiers on Wednesdays and Saturdays with a first post of noon. Lasix times for starters using the medication will be 9 a.m. The lone exception for post times will be on Wednesday, Feb. 11, when qualifiers will be contested starting at 5:30 p.m. and serve as a "dress rehearsal" for the opening-night card the following evening. The entry box will close at 11 a.m. the day prior to each qualifying session.
When parimutuel racing gets underway on the Anderson, Ind. oval, Hoosier will race on a Thursday-and-Friday schedule before adding Wednesdays in April, and Saturdays beginning in May. First post will be 5:30 p.m. Racing through Nov. 28, the new season will get underway with Fan Appreciation Night for opening night, in which guests will be welcomed back to the racetrack with gift giveaways, MegaBets, mystery vouchers, free-to-play handicapping contests and more.
