The Ontario Racing Program’s Implementation and Monitoring (IM) Group expressed in a release on Sunday its thanks to all the horsepeople who took time to speak with the group at Flamboro Downs on January 25
.
“We know horsepeople are extremely busy,” said Mike Wilson, speaking on behalf of the IM Group. “And that is why we value the time they took to meet with us, to ask their questions and to provide their ideas.”
In an effort to continue its dialogue with members of the racing community, the IM Group has been holding some of its meetings at the track and using the opportunity to meet face to face with some of the local horsepeople, as well as track management. Following the meeting, the team members make themselves available in the paddock area to meet horsepeople and discuss the program.
To date, the IM Group has visited Georgian, Western Fair and now Flamboro. Schedules for future track visits will be released in the coming weeks.
The mandate of the IM Group is to implement and monitor the elements of the Ontario Racing Program and to ensure the program is flexible enough to change, where the need for change is demonstrated and determined to be warranted.
