As a result of continuing investigations into the death of two racehorses, on January 19, 2010, the director of the Ontario Racing Commission has ordered the immediate suspension of the ORC licences of

owner/trainer Jason E. Robertson, owner/trainer Chantell L. Robertson, and owner/trainer Brittany M. Robertson, all of Sudbury, Ont.

An ongoing ORC investigation has revealed that the two horses – Bensalem and HBFS Slapshot – died at the Robertson farm, and both had been administered substances intravenously before they died.

The ORC investigation is continuing.

Through its regulatory initiatives, the ORC strives to maintain public confidence in the integrity of the horse racing industry. This includes playing an active role in ensuring the safety of the participants and protecting the health and welfare of the horse.

Message to ORC.

Never give up to make this the game people want. Thank God we have you to keep an eye. Sooner or later the game will return to what it once was. To see animals die in any inhumane way is unacceptable.
