Racing officials have cited the ongoing horse shortage as the reason for cancelling three upcoming programs of live pari-mutuel racing, the first of which was scheduled for this Friday (January 26).
Buffalo Raceway officials have announced that they have been forced to cancel the track’s Friday night (January 26) program due to a shortage of entries.
The track has also been approved for the cancellation of racing on Friday, February 2, and Friday, February 9.
Buffalo’s next scheduled day of live racing on a Friday is February 16, and will be contingent on the draw which will be conducted on Tuesday, February 13. Hopefully, the horse shortage will have improved by then.
Live harness racing at Buffalo Raceway will continue with a Wednesday, Saturday race schedule until that time. Racing will be held as scheduled this evening (Wednesday, January 24) with an 11-race card that will start at 5 p.m., while action is also slated to resume this Saturday (January 27) with a 6 p.m. post.
