Effective January 15, 2020, all races having trailing horses (horses starting from the second tier) will be denoted on the horse's racelines and in a race program with a square bracket, for example [10.
"Woodbine Mohawk Park initiated this notation on a trial basis and tracks in the U.S. were already doing this so it just makes perfect sense to have all tracks in Canada chart the line this way so we can input and store it accordingly," said Val Boom, Manager of Field Services for Standardbred Canada.
