SRF Seeking Donations

The Standardbred Retirement Foundation’s most important and consistent source of funding from within the industry comes from yearly and lifetime breeding donations.

Donors often include breedings in their gift giving to SRF as they serve well as a substitute for cash gifts. SRF is asking for donations of much needed breedings to help provide care, boarding, feeding, veterinary, farrier, dental, worming, rehabilitation, and re-training for 163 standardbreds of which 102 are permanently retired to age and/or injury.

Last year, this fund raising program suffered from the affects of the Canadian racing concerns as well as the limited number of New Jersey stallions. Donations are gratefully received and are much needed. Breedings are sold directly and not auctioned to protect the value of the stallion.

For 24 years the SRF is the only organization solely dedicated to the standardbred breed, the only one of its kind providing full care for horses when adoption is not possible, and following their welfare in every home diligently for life. SRF has served thousands of standardbreds, and helped hundreds of children through its award winning programs. In addition to the 163 horses in its care, SRF has a waiting list of horses hoping to come into the program, but the lack of funds has the list growing. Breeding donations, and SRF’s sale of such gifts make a substantial difference. To donate or purchase a breeding please contact Dana Letual at 732-446-4422 or email [email protected]. Gifts to SRF are tax deductible.
