The Meadowlands Racetrack has announced that effective January 23, the guaranteed pool for its Pick 4 wager will be $75,000 on Saturday and $35,000
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Offered nightly on Races 6 through 9, the Pick 4 is a 'must bet' at the Meadowlands with its low 15 per cent takeout, guaranteed pools and high return rate.
The Pick 4 pool averaged $72,399 per card with an average payoff of $3,113 in 2009. The wager returned a record $67,998 when one winner took down the entire pool on Friday, January 1, 2010.
The Pick 4 paid more than $1,000 nearly 50 per cent of the time and more than $25,000 four times last year.
Peter Wrenn will sit 'In The Sulky' on Meadowlands Racetrack’s pre-card television broadcast Thursday night.
Best known for campaigning Hi Ho Silverheels, Wrenn was one of Meadowlands Racetrack’s leading drivers in the mid-'90s before returning to his home state of Michigan.
On Thursday night, he will steer his homebred mare Amarillo Sky in the $53,000 final of the White Ruffles. Fans can email questions for Wrenn to answer on-air to [email protected].
The broadcast starts at 6:30 p.m.
