The racing industry has lost one of its longtime fans. Mary Plomer passed away on January 17, 2010 at Carlingview Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa
.
Mary was 91 years young, and still an avid horseplayer. She leaves behind her children, Don, Joanne, Lorraine, Bert, plus all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and pre-deceased by her loving son and caregiver Dale, who was also a trainer.
Mary and her late husband Cecil ventured into harness racing at the old Whitehorse racetrack in Gatineau, Quebec, Connaught Park in Aylmer, Quebec, and Rideau Carleton Raceway in Ottawa. She will sadly be missed by all her family and friends.
A private family ceremony will be held on January 21st, at The Hope Cemetery in Gloucester, Ontario.
