George Knackmuhs Passes

George A. Knackmuhs, 76, of West Salem, IL, passed away on Friday, January 11 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, IL.

He was born May 27, 1942, in Olney, IL, the son of Anna (Read) and Richard Knackmuhs. He married Judith Dickerson on August 2, 1986, at Little Wabash Church, and she preceded him in death on August 21, 1990.

George was an Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a farmer and a harness horse owner. He was very involved in racing. In fact, it was his life!

He is survived by one sister, Sharon Gardner, one niece, and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 18, 2019, from 10 a.m. to noon at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in West Salem. The funeral service will begin at noon at the funeral home with burial to follow at Little Wabash Cemetery. Military Honours will be conducted at the graveside.

Family and friends are asked to dress casually for the service.
