A total of 15 stallion breedings have been pledged to date for the upcoming stallion auction at the SBOA Awards Banquet, Saturday, January 19 in Toronto.

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to bid on 2013 breedings to Angus Hall, Artistic Fella, Big Jim, Camluck, Daylon Magician, Federal Flex, Holiday Road, Jeremes Jet, Justice Hall, Mach Three, Majestic Son, Mister Big, Shadow Play, Vintage Master and Windsong Espoir.

“We’d really like to thank the stallion owners and everyone else who has donated during these especially challenging times,” said SBOA President Anna Meyers.

The annual stallion auction and the accompanying silent auction of industry-sourced items have always been the major source of revenue for SBOA.

“Our organization has been especially busy in representing breeders over the past year given the current state of the industry,” Meyers said. “We intend to continue to be relentless in our mission to advocate to government as the voice of Ontario’s standardbred breeders.”

The night’s awards ceremonies will salute the breeders of the top money winning horses in 2012, the Johnston and Lampman Cup winners and the Masterfeeds awards for Broodmare of the Year. Winners of the prestigious Chris Van Bussel and Lloyd Chisholm Memorial awards will be announced at the banquet.

Media personality Greg Blanchard will host the awards which return this year to the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel and Conference Centre at 801 Dixon Rd.

SBOA members are reminded of the organization’s Annual General Meeting scheduled for 5:00pm. Cocktails will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.

The SBOA Awards Banquet has long been the main social gathering of the year for breeders and their friends. Please join us for an evening of camaraderie, entertainment and spectacular food.

Tickets ($60) are available from Aimee Adams at 519-856-4431 or [email protected].
