Sterling Cooper shot to the front and couldn’t be caught for the second consecutive week in the $10,500 Open Pace at Fraser Downs.

Trainer/driver Bill Davis rocketed to the lead in the Friday evening feature with Sterling Cooper, and after slicing out splits of :28, :57.1 and 1:24.4 the gelding kicked home in :29.2 to win by 1-1/4 lengths over Comes Home First in 1:54.1. Premium Stock was a well-beaten third in the five-horse affair.

The eight-year-old son of Camluck-Babyremembermyname, who was sent off at odds of 4-5, is owned by Davis and partner Jeff Elchuk of Surrey, BC. The gelding is now 4-for-6 this season and his career cash stash stands at just shy of $230,000.
