The sight of a huge crowd conjures up a special time in racing history. Take note of the patrons, with everyone very well dressed in cooler weather attire. This vintage undated photo was probably taken at the Old Woodbine track in Toronto. Attending races whether standardbred or thoroughbred, was once considered quite an outing. While the main attraction has always been for betting purposes, the sporting aspect and above all the splendour of the horses was definitely a factor.
