Hot N Sporty won the $32,500 Delaware Special by a nose, I Aint No Fool posted his third straight victory in the $26,000 Open Pace and driver Tim Tetrick steered five winners on Monday at Dover Downs.
Hot N Sporty found room coming down the middle of the stretch while Art Director came from the outside as only a nose separated the two at the wire in 1:52 in the $32,500 Delaware Special. Tony Morgan drove the winner for Gary Evans and Folk Stables Inc. Steeler and David Miller were third.
The Sportsmaster – Shes Redhot gelding raised his career earnings to $428,235 with his 26th lifetime win.
Tim Tetrick notched the fourth of his five wins when he guided I Aint No Fool to his third consecutive wire-to-wire win in the $26,000 Open Pace. A :27.4 final panel put away any thoughts of runners-up Haverford Hanover, handled by Ron Pierce, and Benns Shotgun with Tony Morgan, second and third respectively.
Tom Lazzaro and Harness The Power own The Panderosa – Fool that I Am gelding, who is trained by Kevin Lare. The win was I Aint No Fool's third in four starts this year, good for $40,300 in 2009 earnings and $314,547 lifetime.
Larry Baron's He Da Cool Man won his second in three local starts, taking the $22,000 Winners-Over Pace in 1:52.1. David Miller drove The Panderosa – First Days Light four-year-old to a career best clocking, securing the victory with a :27.3 last quarter. George At Bigs, with Ron Pierce, was next. Menno Boy and Jim Morand were third.
