Posting the only sub-2:00 mile of the day, Art I Special won the top pacing class once again at Inverness Raceway to close out the Sunday afternoon card of harness racing.
Sprinting his final quarter in :28.3, Art I Special ($6.90) won a stretch duel with Macnamarra in the featured $1,500 Winners Over Pace, prevailing by a quarter-length in 1:57.1. Favourite Arabica finished six and a half lengths behind in third.
The six-year-old Artsplace gelding is trained and driven by Redmond Doucet for local owner Randy Copley.
His season's best equalling win was his third in a row, seventh this year and 40th lifetime.
