Foiled Again, the richest pacer in North American harness racing history, surfaced at Meadowlands Racetrack for the first charted mile of his nine-year-old campaign during Saturday morning's qualifying session.

Reuniting with his regular reinsman Yannick Gingras, Foiled Again finished third behind fellow Ron Burke trainees Atochia and 1:52.2 winner Clear Vision. He followed his stablemates through panels of :27.4, :57.3 and 1:26.1 before kicking home in :26.3 to clock his own mile in 1:53.2.

The Dragon Again gelding won seven of 24 races last year and banked over $1.2 million as the oldest horse in the sport to have a $1 million-plus season. He conquered the Molson Pace, Canadian Pacing Derby, and Indiana Pacing Derby to push his career win total to 65 and lifetime earnings to $4,629,540. The 2011 O'Brien Award winner added more awards to his resume with his stellar eight-year-old campaign being voted 2012 Older Male Pacer of the Year in the U.S.

Burke also sent out qualifying winners Tall Cotton (1:57); Hugadragon (1:54.1), winning over the season-debuting double millionaire One More Laugh; Rock N Soul (1:54.3) in a qualifier with stablemates Ginger And Fred and Jugette champion Darena Hanover; and Camille (1:52.4), who scored over barn buddy Bettor B Lucky. Two-time O'Brien Award winner Anndrovette turned in her second qualifying mile of the year for driver Tim Tetrick and trainer PJ Fraley, finishing third behind Camille while clocking her own mile in 1:53.1 with a :26.3 final frame.
