Sudbury Downs featured a six-race program on Wednesday evening, and the night totally belonged to sulky sitter Jason ‘Ricky Bobby’ Ryan.
Ryan, who had drives in all six of the races, captured five of them including a 1:58.2 win in Race 2 with Firebrand Hanover – a pacer from his own barn.
He kicked off the card by taking the opener with Shipp To Morgan (1:59) and he swept the final three races with Amazing Quest (1:55.3), Imbadimnationwide (1:56.4) and Sheer Sport (1:58.1).
The five-win performance boosted Ryan’s yearly win total to 71 – a personal best for the resident of Hanmer, ON. He’s also sat behind horses that have hauled in purse earnings of $369,021 this year. He’s less than $50,000 away from hitting the $1 million mark in lifetime earnings.
