Five divisions full of two-year-old pacing fillies battled Monday, August 29 at Indiana Downs for all-important Indiana Sires Stakes points and a position behind the gate in the $200,000 final Saturday, September 10.
A pair of Pro Bono Best juveniles turned in solid performances over the Shelbyville oval. Insatiable Desire, still undefeated, paced to a 1:53.4 triumph, while Bonos Lassie won by three lengths in 1:55.4.
Tabbed the favorite in her $40,000 ISS division, Insatiable Desire and driver Kayne Kauffman received every call on the way to their third win in as many starts. The duo finished half a length in front of Ccruby Copperstone and Fsolatdo Bluegrass finished third. Insatiable Desire is trained by Lester Clemmons, who owns the filly in partnership with Brian Clemmons, John Daskivich and Jodie Daskivich. The 1:53.4 clocking established a new lifetime mark for the Mark Adams-bred filly.
Bonos Lassie raised her record to three wins in four starts with a victory Monday evening. Trained and driven by Dan Shetler, the Pro Bono Best--Brads Little Sis filly moved second over up the backside and sprinted away from the field to collect the win. Black Pansy followed the favourite and Bluebird Jettart finished third. Owned by The Kales Company and Parent Racing Stable LLC, Bonos Lassie lowered her mark in victory.
The other ISS two-year-old pacing filly divisions saw Free Girl (1:55), Sheza Cool Cookie (1:55.4) and Mamajons Bluegrass.
