'Jet' Rages In Preferred Pace

On Saturday afternoon, Arts Ragin Jet gave driver Brad Forward his third win on the card in the $20,000 Preferred Pace at Woodstock Raceway.

The five-year-old son of Jet Laag got away third as Western Wiggles (Paul MacKenzie) led the field to the quarter pole in :27.2, where Gold Cup & Saucer winner Banner Yankee (Carl Jamieson) took over. After a :56.3 half, Berts Casey (Marc St Louis, Jr.) took his turn on the front end.

Meanwhile, Arts Ragin Jet was shuffled back, sitting fifth on the outside behind Coreys On Crombie (Doug McNair). After the field past the third quarter pole in 1:26, Art Ragin Jet sprinted home in :27.2 posting a three and a half length victory in 1:54.2.

Coreys On Crombie was the runner-up with Berts Casey finishing third.

The bay gelding picked up his ninth win of the season, boosting his lifetime earnings to $133,718 for trainer and owner Shaun McDonald of Chelmsford, Ont.
