While the three-year-old pacing filly division was projected to be a tug of war between Put On A Show and Fancy Filly, that match-up only materialized once - in the 2010 Fan Hanover Final

.

In that race, Put On A Show and Fancy Filly finished second and third respectively behind Ontario-sired standout Western Silk. That's the last time Fancy Filly raced this season.

"She's done for the year," trainer and co-owner George Teague told Trot Insider. Teague went on to explain that Fancy Filly had quarter crack issues coming into the Fan Hanover Final. At some point after that, she was experiencing soreness in her left front leg. An ultrasound on Tuesday couldn't find any breaks, with Teague stating that a deep bruise is causing the soreness.

Last year's O'Brien Award winner as two-year-old pacing filly of the year, Fancy Filly has amassed an impressive bankroll in excess of $1.1 million and a record of 14 wins, 1 second and 2 thirds in 17 lifetime starts. It's interesting to note that all three of the non-winning efforts came in Canada.

Teague also confirmed that plans are to bring Fancy Filly back for her four-year-old campaign.
