In terms of the two-year-olds, the juveniles starred in the first four races the card offered.

The first dash saw the Steve Condren-driven and Bob McIntosh-trained Strike An Attitude put in her first charted line since taking the $50,000 series final on July 29. Condren and the daughter of Western Hanover came from off the pace to post a two and a half-length victory in 1:56.2.

On the trot in Race 2, the Jody Jamieson-driven and Jeff Gillis-driven Here Comes Herbie filly Luvumeanit overcame recent early breaking problems by staying on gait and putting in a wire-to-wire win by over three lengths in 2:00.3.

Driven by Paul MacDonell for trainer Tim Pinske, $90,000 yearling buy Westwardho Hanover made his second-ever charted line a winning one, as the bay Dragon Again colt converted a trip on the engine into a five and three-quarter-length win in 1:55.4 during Race 3.

After consecutive pari-mutuel races in which he put in breaks, the Rick Zeron-driven and Jack Wray-trained Striking Sahbra gelding Tymal Colossus was on his best behaviour in Race 4, as the brown performance left from the outside starting spot, worked out a two-hole trip and popped out late for a two and three-quarter-length win in 2:02.3.

The next two races were three-year-old tilts. The Mario Baillargeon-driven and Ben Baillargeon-trained Western Ideal filly Private Joke was a half-length the best at the wire in 1:54 during Race 5; while Ken Warkentin filly Velten Ladolcevita and trainer/driver Wayne Henry took the gate-to-wire route from Post 8 in Race 6. The duo stopped the clock in 1:58.4, more than five lengths the best.
