With a masterful drive from French driving ace Jean Michel Bazire, Olga du Biwetz was victorious in one of the few remaining prep races for the 2010 Prix d'Amerique.

On Sunday, Vincennes hosted the 2100m Prix de Bourgogne. Leaving from Post 9, Bazire carefully guided his mare to command over Premiere Steed (Eric Raffin) with favoured Meaulnes du Corta (Pierre Levesque) opting for a trip along the rail. Orlando Sports (S. Baude) made a bid on the outside to wear down Olga de Biwetz but not get past the leader.

With Infinitif (Jean Baudron) making a break while on the outside, Levesque was able to angle out Meaulnes du Corta for a late rush but Bazire and Olga du Biwetz had enough left to capture the 55,000EUR winner's share of the purse. Meaulnes du Corta finished second with early leader Premiere Steed holding on for third.

Trained by Fabrice Souloy, Olga du Biwetz (Cezio Josselyn - Brise De La Tour) is owned by Ecurie Nathalie Chatelain. The win establishes the seven-year-old mare as one of the likely favourites for this year's Prix d'Amerique set for January 31.
