Using the same front-stepping strategy as last week, Mystical Ryan doubled up in the $15,000 Preferred Trot at Georgian Downs on Tuesday

The gelded son of Striking Sahbra-Eclectia, with Mario Baillargeon in the bike, left from the outside Post 6 and led the single-file field through panels of :28.3 and :58.2 before Secret Lives (Robert Shepherd) moved up from third and applied heavy pressure at three-quarters in 1:27.3. As his challenger moved within a half-length of the lead, Mystical Ryan unleashed a :28.4 final frame to scoot away and stop the clock in 1:56.2.
Secret Lives (Robert Shepherd) finished a length behind with Chinnys Wings (Doug Bowins) coming in third.
Ben Baillargeon trains the seven-year-old trotter, who has won seven of his 27 starts this year and $120,370, for Frank Cirillo of Kleinburg, Ont.
