Two of the nation’s top tradesmen – driver Brad Forward and trainer Bob McIntosh - enjoyed at productive day during Tuesday’s 12-race program at Woodstock

Raceway.

McIntosh and Forward teamed up for three wins, and Forward tacked on two more catch-driving wins to bring his win total to five by the end of the card.

Miss Maverick, a rookie daughter of Western Maverick-Sanfrancine, gave them their first trip to victory lane thanks to her 2:02.2 triumph in the opener. They also took the checkered flag in the fourth race with Designer Dreams, a three-year-old daughter of Dream Work-Cammelloni who stopped the clock in 1:57.4.

Forward teamed up with trainer Chris Haskell to win Tuesday’s $14,000 feature race with Headpoles R Us, who drew off to win by more than four lengths in a time of 1:55.3 in her seventh race assignment. Forward and trainer Tim McFadden hooked up to take the ninth race with Rich Society Girl in a time of 1:57.

McIntosh and Forward were reunited in the tenth race with Future Bernie, who destroyed his foes winning by more than 13 lengths. The three-year-old son of Berndt Hanover-Rosy Future halted the teletimer in 2:01.2.

Forward’s five-win performance helped him inch a bit closer to 1,500 wins, and it added to the $21 million in purse money he racked up since a career that spans back to the late 80s.

McIntosh’s hat-trick gives him 96 this season and close to 3,500 in a career that has seen him produced a long list of pacing and trotting starts. Last year’s O’Brien Award winner as Canada’s Trainer of the Year has sent out starters that have banked more than $76 million to date.
