Track Records At Ohsweken

A pair of track records were broken on the four-race matinee at the Ohsweken Fair on Saturday, September 9.

Going wire to wire, Moon Lake won in 2:01.4 as the 3-5 favourite in the $2,000 second race on the program. An eleven-year-old mare by Dream Away lowered the previous track record for an aged pacing mare of 2:03.1 set by Bitter Cam. Owned by trainer Robert Coulter and driven by Scott Coulter, she returned $3.20 to win.

Canadian Edition parked the first half of the mile before clearing command and kicking clear by 15 lengths win the $2,000 third race in 1:58.4, besting the old mark for aged pacing geldings of 2:02.2 by M G Christian. The six-year-old Somebeachsomewhere gelding competes for owner Keith Cassel and trainer Victor Puddy. Driven by A. Eddie Green, he paid $2.40.
