For the second week in a row, Kelly Sheppard's Ziggy Wiggy triumphed in Georgian Downs' Saturday night feature - the $13,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Trot.
The eight-year-old mare by S Js Photo got away sixth from Post 4 as Bjs Fancy (Jean Rene Plante) battled with Royal Missy (Pat Keetch) through the opening quarter in :28. While Bjs Fancy settled on top, Gostreet (Lyle MacArthur) tipped out from third before the half in :58.4, providing Ziggy Wiggy with cover.
As the field passed the third quarter station in 1:28, Gostreet took command, but her lead was short-lived as Ziggy Wiggy kicked it into gear and sprinted home for the win in 1:58.1.
Gostreet finished a half-length back in second and the odds-on favourite, Margie Seelster (Robert Shepherd), closed well for third.
Ziggy Wiggy, a winner of $192,086 in purses, notched her 31st lifetime win and 11th of the season.
