The Red Mile wrapped up the Bluegrass Series this afternoon for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings with Sheer Desire equaling the world record of 1:49.3 in the first division.

Hay Goodlooking (Brian Sears) ran loose on the lead through uncontested fractions of :25.4 and :52 before starting to back through the field at the three-quarters of 1:22.4. The backfield caught up to him at that point with Lightning Elvis (Mike LaChance) inheriting the lead. Ahead Of The Curve (Jody Jamieson) and Sheer Desire (Dave Palone) tipped off cover, collared the leader and duked it out down the stretch with Sheer Desire getting a neck up to hit the line in 1:49.3.
