Windsor Raceway has released a slew of details in regard to its October opening.
In preparation for the October track opening, Windsor Raceway will be holding qualifying races on Wednesday, September 26 at 10:30 am.
Horsemen are asked to please have the horses they would like to qualify entered by 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25. Please note qualifying standards for Windsor Raceway during the fall meet are as follows:
- Pacers: - 2:02
- Trotters: 2:04
- 3-year-olds allowed 1 second
- 2-year-olds allowed 2 seconds
- half-mile track allowance of 1 second
Entries may be called in to the race office. Please call (519) 969-8312 (Ext. 380).
The track will be open for training beginning on Monday, September 24. The track may be used to train daily from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. unless notified otherwise.
Windsor Raceway also wishes to advise horsemen that in accordance with federal legislation, GST will be deducted from all Owners purse cheques and it will be included in the cheques paid to the Drivers and Trainers. All Drivers and Trainers who have not submitted GST numbers are required to submit them to the race secretary immediately. Windsor Raceway will not be held responsible for non-compliance concerning this issue. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
The first race card is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2 followed by Wednesday, October 3 and Sunday, October 7. Wednesday and Sunday cards will be feature Ontario Sires Stakes events. Wednesday's card will feature Grassroots three-year-old colt & gelding pacers, while Sunday's card will see the two-year-old colt & gelding trotters come to town in a Gold Elimination. Post time for all race cards will be 7:00 p.m.
Condition sheets for the first three days of racing for the fall meet will be out this weekend. The Tuesday, October 2 card will be drawn on Thursday, September 27, and the Wednesday October 3 card will be drawn on Friday September 28. Entries for the Sunday, October 7 card will be taken on Wednesday, October 3. The box closes at 10:00 a.m. for all race cards. Again entries may be submitted to the race office by calling (519) 969-8312 (Ext. 380).
