Arrow Dynamic and Kaptain And Keiths were runaway winners in their respective assignments on Sunday at Truro Raceway, as the Nova Scotia half-miler hosted a pair of $12,340 divisions of the Donnie and George Turner Memorial.
The opening split went to Arrow Dynamic, who rolled the field through splits of :28.1, :58 and 1:27.3 before finishing off his foes with a :29.1 final quarter. Kenny Arsenault engineered the double digit drubbing with the three-year-old son of Western Success, who resides in the stable of trainer Duncan Gillis.
Gillis, who shares ownership with Arleen Gillis of Truro, NS, watched the gelding defeat Tobins Paradise and Dreams Matter. The 1:56.4 clocking was a career-best effort for the pacer, who has banked in excess of $57,000 to date.
Kaptain N Keiths, fresh off his win in the $25,000 ATSS Breeders Crown at the CDPEC, didn't let a month away from the races stop him from steamrolling over the competition he faced for trainer/driver Red Doucet, who also bred and owns the photogenic son of Mantwo.
The gelding sprinted through fractions of :27.3, :56.2 and 1:26.1 before coasting home to win by nine and a half lengths in a time of 1:57.1. Southview Spring was second best and third prize went to Melodys Cookie Boy.
It was the fifth win of the season and the 11th lifetime score for the pacer, who has stashed away in excess of $50,000 in his career.
