The second leg of the Trick Or Treat Trotting Series headlined Kawartha Downs' Saturday night card with three $6,500 divisions.

Zonk Smiger and driver Gord Brown got the job done in the first and fastest division with a 2:00 score for trainer and part-owner Mark Winnacott and Brenda Gauthier of Azilda, Ont.

The co-favourite rode the pocket through panels of :29.3, 1:01 and 1:30.3 posted by Aerial Victory (Steve Skilton) before sprinting home for the win by three and a half lengths.

Sticky Situation (Kyle Balson) was the runner-up while the pacesetter faded to third.

The seven-year-old Woody Smiger gelding, who won his first start for Winnacott, has made a total of four trips to the winner's circle in his career. The win pushed his earnings over the $50,000 mark.

In the second division, Montana Victory held on by half a length for the win in 2:00.2 in rein to trainer David Green.

Excelling to the lead from Post 3, the five-year-old Balanced Image gelding posted panels of :30.1, :59.4 and 1:29.3 en route to victory lane.

Autocrat (Gord Brown) was a close second and Wooden Shoes (Tomas Dalborg) finished third.

Bruce Norris of Caledon East, Ont. owns the chestnut gelding, who is an eight-time winner with over $40,000 in the bank.

Tags Victory used the inside post to his advantage to take the final split with Doug Hie in the bike for trainer and co-owner Roger Hie of Cobourg and Hielite Acres Inc. of Fraserville, Ont.

The five-year-old gelding picked up his first win of the season after putting up panels of :30.1, 1:01 and 1:31.2, but it wasn't clear sailing from there as Tags Victory faced a first-over challenge from President Pine (Gord Brown) in the stretch. Tags Victory did, however, prevail with over a length victory in 2:01.2. Baltic Lane (Jason Woodward) was placed third.

The son of Tagliabu scored his third lifetime win and increased his earnings to over $43,000.

As part of Think Pink night, a fundraising evening in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Kawartha Downs hosted a pair of Mildred Williams events and drivers Kris Hie and Gro Formia steered winners in Races 4 and 6.

Mystic Factor notched her 20th lifetime win for trainer Mark Winnacott and owner Don Smith and Donna Parker of Hampton, Ont. in rein to Hie in the fourth race.

The five-year-old Astreos mare increased her bankroll to almost $80,000 with the two-length victory in a time of 1:58.1.

With Fromia in the bike, Bea Allthatendsall made her way to victory lane with a 1:58.4 half-length winning effort in the sixth race.

The Nancy Collin trainee, who is owned by Andy Lupenette of Belleville, Ont. picked up her ninth career win. The five-year-old mare by Strong Clan lifted her bankroll to over $37,000 tonight.
