With breeder Darryl Mason at the reins, There Goes Andy set a new lifetime mark in the $14,242 MSSBA Futurity Stake Final at Wawanesa Fair this afternoon.

The three-year-old son of Goalie Jeff secured the lead after the half mile marker in :59. There Goes Andy pulled away from the field by four lengths through a 1:29 third quarter clocking before crossing the wire in 1:59.4.

Abbafun (Barry McNaughton) finished over a length back in second and Gates Hero (Dean Rey) was third.

The bay gelding picked up his eighth lifetime win for trainer and owner Robert Ross and co-owner Arlene Ross of Virden, MB.

In the Kindergarten Stakes for two-year-olds, Mason's luck continued as two offspring out of Firm Friend dominated both divisions.

In the $1,740 division for two-year-old colts, Mason steered Gingerbred Walker to victory in wire-to-wire fashion, tripping the teletimer in 2:04.3. The bay gelding scored his second win in three starts for trainer Donald Anness who also co-owns with Mason of Killarney, MB.

In the $2,780 division for fillies, Bubble Promise (Roland Rey) recovered from an early miscue to win in a new lifetime best of 2:02.1. The win was her third in five starts for trainer Anness who also co-owns with Sheila Anness of Emo, Ont.
