Trainer Brent MacGrath has stated on multiple occasions that Somebeachsomewhere will not be contesting the Little Brown Jug, yet bettors have still made the Mach Three colt the 5-2 favourite in the second future pool.
Apparently, the bettors still feel there is a chance Somebeachsomewhere will race in Delaware, Ohio on Thursday afternoon, September 18.
The 'Field' (all other three-year-olds not currently eligible to the Jug) is the second choice at odds of 5-1. Badlands Nitro, who captured Saturday's second Cane Pace elimination, is next at odds of 6-1.
Included in the Field is Art Official, who defeated Somebeachsomewhere in the Meadowlands Pace, and won last Saturday's first Cane Pace elimination in a Freehold Track record 1:50.4.
Art Official would become eligible to the Little Brown Jug if he wins next Monday's Cane Pace. His owners would then have to pay a supplemental entry fee. Art Official also was a supplemental entry into the Cane Pace, the first leg of Pacing's Triple Crown.
The third Future Jug Pool starts at 12 p.m. Sunday, September 14 through 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 17. This is during the first four Grand Circuit afternoons of racing at the Delaware, Ohio Fair.
