Tim Tetrick, who is in a battle with Tony Morgan for leading North American dash-winning driver of 2008, will be honoured Friday afternoon (September 12) at Pocono Downs for winning his second consecutive driving title.
Meanwhile, Carmine Fusco and Chris Oakes will be bestowed honours on the final afternoon of racing Saturday (September 13) for winning their second consecutive training titles. Fusco, who was top trainer in 2007, had 88 training victories going into the final two days of the 95-day meet.
Oakes, who also was top percentage trainer last season, will take home this honour once again. Oakes was second behind Fusco, having conditioned the winners of 68 races. Oakes also led Pocono trainers with a .502 UTR.
Tim Tetrick, who was two wins behind Morgan heading into today's action (690 to 692), has collected 150 Pocono wins heading into the final two cards at Pocono. Joe Pavia Jr.'s 122 Pocono wins currently have him sitting second.
