'Sunalta' Breezes In Holland Fair Feature

Sunalta Breeze prevailed by over four lengths for the win in Holland Fair's Saturday afternoon feature, the second division of the MHHI Claiming Series.

After being placed second in the first leg, Sunalta Breeze tipped off the cover of his stablemate Sunaltaseabiscuit (Marc Fillion) to prevail in the $1,900 second leg in a clocking of 2:06.3. Sunaltaseabiscuit was second with Prairie Freedom (Philip Giesbrecht) coming in third.

The six-year-old Doctor Brodsky gelding is trained and co-owned by James Jeffers of Deloraine, MB and Dennis Walsh of Delta, B.C.

Holland Fair also featured a $1,600 Open Pace for fillies and mares.

Alcars Xit (Marc Fillion) advanced on the post time favourite Valentine Hotspur (Cory Manning), gaining the lead after the 1:01.4 half. Posting a 1:33.3 third quarter, Alcars Xit held off Allamerican Orchid (Michel Rey) by three quarters of a length for the win in 2:05.4. P Ts Fancy (Darryl Mason) was third.

The five-year-old mare out of Jigsaw picked up her fourth win in nine starts this year for Fillion, who is also listed as trainer and owner.
