The Chancellor took command in the stretch and drew off to a two and a half-length victory in the $85,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Final for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings on Wednesday at Freehold Raceway.

The son of Yankee Glide – Prime Mistress posted his first career victory with two seconds in three starts and pushed his bankroll to $60,000.

The Chancellor, driven by Andy Miller and trained by Julie Miller, trotted the sixth race mile in 1:57.3, a two-year-old trotting colt stakes and Freehold track record by a second, eclipsing the 1:58.3 mark of Keystone Savage [Yankee Glide] set on September 29, 2005.

Racing for the Andy Miller Stable Inc. of Millstone, NJ and Arden Homestead Stable of Delhi, NY, The Chancellor was a $32,000 Lexington Select Sale yearling purchase.

Finishing second was even-money favourite Vesuvio AS [Windsongs Legacy] with Mystro Hanover [Windsongs Legacy] third by four lengths.

In the co-featured $10,000 NJSS-Green Acres for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings, Lous Legacy [WIndsongs Legacy] also set a stakes record with a 1:59.2 clocking.

The previous Green Acres mark of 2:00.1 belonged to Franks N Beans [Enjoy Lavec] since 2004.

Lous Legacy, driven by Jim Marshall III and trained by Chuck Sylvester, was bred by and belongs to Mal and Janet Burroughs LLC of Westwood, NJ.
